With my children steadily getting tired and after various concerts, assemblies and activities…..is it the end of term I here them cry?
Well, it is fast approaching the end of this term. In our house and as in many families at this time of year, there is a mark made in the sand, almost everywhere…to show how much we have achieved this year. Whether it is a sports day, end of term production or final assembly. This term for us it has been no different, except the marks in the sand we have made are of moving forward looking to new things and exciting new challenges.
I feel priviledged as a Mum to see my children grow and develop. To show new skills, to experience new challenges. There are many times in our lives when we can be proud Mum’s and the end of term normally sees many of these moments.
Who would of thought that singing nursery rhymes with a baby would mean in years to come he would be singing in a choir in Symphony Hall in Birmingham… or reading amazing children’s stories with a toddler would see them develop a love for musical theatre….and certainly not seeing the preschooler who sometimes refused to take part in things, now singing as Joseph in the end of year production.
This time of year sees many changes for us all……a mark in the sand, that allows us to move forward…..make changes and grow.
So in a couple of weeks time, with tissues at the ready, I will say goodbye to some Singamajigs children who in September will be going to school. However, over the next few years time I suspect like this year, in various concerts and productions I have been to, I will be seeing some of them again, involved in different groups, using some of the skills and understanding that was gained in those precious early years of development when Singamajigs hopefully helped then to develop a love for music and singing……
I’m looking forward to the end of term party on Thursday 25th July at 9:30am, St Marks Church in Harrogate…..if you don’t normally come on a Thursday in Harrogate but would like to join us, why not get in touch to book your place….
